On Monday, Oct. 13, GRID Alternatives kicked-off our commitment to expand our program serving California’s capital region with a ribbon cutting event. The event was a great opportunity to see GRID’s model in action, and applaud the efforts of the young Sacramento Conservation Corps corpsmembers who were installing a 2.7-kW solar system for Ms. Amadali of Oak Park. We were joined by partners and supporters, old and new, and were honored by the support of Assemblymember Dickinson who spoke at the event.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to each of you for your time and support for GRID. Thank you for helping us grow our network in the region.

“The solar industry has grown by 40% over the last year, and solar jobs by 20%. We, of course, want Sacramento to be among the leading beneficiaries of this rapidly growing sector in our economy.” -Assemblymember Roger Dickinson (pictured above).

Special thanks to our speakers Assemblymember Dickinson (D-Sacramento), Haley Dewhurst of Wells Fargo, Dwight Washabaugh of Sacramento Conservation Corps, and to the Corpsmembers for their hard work on the roof.

We were able to take many pictures on that beautiful sunny day in Sacramento. Check out our flickr photos of the event.
