Access Clean California helps you find EV benefit programs you qualify for.
We help people understand their clean transportation options and connect with programs that can help them access them. We partner with community-based organizations to provide trusted outreach, education, and application support.
We help income-qualified drivers access rebates and other financial assistance for electric vehicles and EV charging equipment, with hands-on support throughout the application process.
We work with utilities and other partners to make public and multifamily EV charging more affordable, particularly for renters who often pay more to charge than homeowners.
We design and install EV charging equipment at single-family homes, multifamily affordable housing properties, and commercial sites like non-profits, managing the process from design and permitting through installation. We also partner with local contractors to expand clean energy business opportunities.
We expand access to clean transportation beyond personal vehicles, including e-bikes, shuttles, and other shared mobility options, through programs that combine financial assistance, education, and safety support.
We bring lessons from our clean mobility programs to policymakers and industry partners, using research and community insights to help shape more equitable clean transportation policies, programs, and products.

A benefits finder for income-qualified drivers, built by GRID and used by 22,500 families.
Access Clean California is the public-facing platform we built after the California Air Resources Board asked us in 2018 to create the nation’s first one-stop shop for EV incentives and rebates. It helps income-qualified families find the rebates, incentives, and clean transportation programs they actually qualify for, all in one place. Today, the platform supports more than 22,500 users. We partner with 35 community-based organizations across California to deliver the hands-on application support that turns a website visit into a rebate in someone’s hands.
