What We Do
Solar Design & Engineering
GRID is a vertically integrated solar and storage contractor with a dedicated in-house commercial design and engineering team. We specialize in new construction, retrofits, complex interconnection arrangements including virtual net energy metering (VNEM), and energy storage systems.
For new affordable multifamily housing developments, we also work alongside owners, developers, and design consultants to integrate solar and storage into the overall project design from the start.
Procurement
Contracting and vendor coordination are part of GRID's project development process for every site.
Permitting & Compliance
GRID has a dedicated permitting team with experience navigating jurisdictions across the country. We manage permitting and inspections as part of every installation, so property owners and housing providers don't have to coordinate the process themselves.
Installation & Construction
GRID is a fully licensed solar contractor with experience delivering projects across residential, multifamily, commercial, and clean mobility applications. Depending on the project, installation may be completed by GRID's in-house construction teams, qualified subcontractors, or a combination of both. GRID oversees project delivery to ensure each installation meets project requirements and quality standards.
Battery Storage & Resilience
Where funding allows, GRID pairs solar with battery storage so homes, clinics, and other facilities can keep essential power running during an outage.
EV Charging Infrastructure
GRID designs, installs, and maintains EV charging equipment (EVSE, or electric vehicle supply equipment) at single-family homes, multifamily housing, and public agency fleets, handling everything from technical assistance and system design to permitting and ongoing maintenance.
Incentive & Program Administration
GRID designs, administers, and evaluates incentive programs on behalf of utilities, air districts, and state agencies, and helps income-qualified households and drivers navigate the paperwork so they can access the incentives they qualify for.
Project Finance & Energy Resilience Fund
GRID helps property owners, housing providers, and public agencies unlock utility, state, and federal funding for their projects, including through an innovative, program-related investment fund supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

About GRID
Every GRID project pairs technical expertise with deep community engagement, including tenant education, hands-on job training, and culturally responsive support for navigating incentives and rebates. That combination — a licensed contractor with mission-driven, community-integrated delivery — is what sets GRID apart.
