The statewide report recognizes Victoria as one of six community leaders helping turn climate investments into meaningful benefits for California communities.<\/p>\n

GRID Alternatives Southern California and Victoria Pacheco, Outreach Manager, Community Engagement, are prominently featured in the newly released California Climate Investments<\/a> 2026 Annual Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The report highlights the people and organizations helping California\u2019s public climate investments reduce pollution, lower household costs, and expand opportunities in communities across the state. Victoria was selected as one of only six community leaders recognized for the essential role they play in bringing projects to life that center equity and protect community health.<\/p>\n

Victoria is featured for her work with residents in Riverside\u2019s Eastside neighborhood<\/a>, where GRID has connected income-qualified homeowners with no-cost solar through the Transformative Climate Communities<\/a> program.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese communities are invested in community health and resilience,\u201d <\/strong><\/em>Victoria shared in the report. \u201cThey deserve not to be overlooked and to be part of the collaboration. For their voices to be included and considered as important as any other neighborhood.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The recognition reflects years of relationship-building in the Eastside community. Many local households could not receive assistance through the Disadvantaged Communities Single-Family Solar Homes program, known as DAC-SASH,<\/a> because of eligibility requirements connected to their electricity provider. Transformative Climate Communities funding created another path for GRID to bring no-cost solar to the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Outreach was central to making that opportunity accessible. Over three years, Victoria and her team met residents at trusted community locations, including the neighborhood library and community center. They listened to residents\u2019 questions, explained the available programs, and gave families the time and information they needed to feel comfortable moving forward.<\/p>\n

That work reflects GRID\u2019s broader commitment to ensuring that environmental justice communities benefit from California\u2019s transition to clean energy. An accompanying profile connected to the annual report also recognizes GRID\u2019s role as administrator of DAC-SASH<\/a>, which provides no-cost solar to income-qualified homeowners in eligible disadvantaged communities.<\/p>\n

\"CCI<\/p>\n

GRID\u2019s work is represented throughout the report. In addition to Victoria\u2019s individual recognition, the report features images of GRID\u2019s community outreach and solar installation work, including a crew installing rooftop solar in a section focused on lowering energy bills and improving home comfort.<\/p>\n

The report places this work within a much larger statewide investment. Since 2014, California Climate Investments has implemented $15.5 billion in projects, with approximately $11.4 billion, or 76 percent, benefiting disadvantaged and low-income communities and households.<\/p>\n

Home energy projects funded through California Climate Investments include rooftop solar, weatherization, efficient appliances, and other improvements that can make homes more comfortable and less expensive to operate. Together, these projects are expected to save Californians approximately $9.9 billion in energy costs and generate about 5.5 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity.<\/p>\n

Victoria\u2019s inclusion among the six featured community leaders is a well-deserved recognition of the trust she has built with Eastside residents. It also highlights the wider GRID SoCal team\u2019s commitment to making clean energy programs more accessible throughout Southern California.<\/p>\n
