On October 9, 2025, Wells Fargo<\/a> and GRID Alternatives Inland Empire partnered for a Corporate Team-Building Volunteer Workday where Wells Fargo employees helped install a solar energy system for the Navarrete family in Riverside, California. Through this ongoing partnership, Wells Fargo volunteers continue to bring renewable energy to local families who benefit most from lower electricity costs. The experience also provided employees with an opportunity to connect with one another and the community while learning about how solar power changes lives.<\/p>\n

The Navarrete family\u2019s new 4.9 kW DC solar system is projected to provide more than $16,200 in lifetime savings on their energy bills. Environmentally, the installation will prevent 85 tons of greenhouse gas emissions, equal to taking 16 cars off the road or planting 1,980 trees.<\/p>\n

For many Wells Fargo volunteers, the day was both inspiring and educational. \u201cI feel blessed to be here and be part of events like this,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> said Victoria Garcia, a Wells Fargo Branch Manager who has volunteered on several GRID IE projects over the years. \u201cEveryone is so friendly and welcoming. You never feel like you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re doing. Everyone\u2019s kind and willing to share information. It\u2019s just a great experience.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Garcia shared that even after four or five installations with GRID, there is always something new to learn. \u201cI didn\u2019t know how to use an impact wrench before today,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> she said with a smile. \u201cI\u2019m good with a drill, but this was different. It\u2019s nice to get hands-on and learn new skills.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

For Christina Alvarez, an Account Resolutions Representative at a Wells Fargo call center, the experience was her first time on a roof. \u201cI felt like I accomplished a goal, something I\u2019ve had on my bucket list,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> she said. \u201cTo be up there safely and actually help install the panels, it\u2019s amazing.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Alvarez said the experience has motivated her to keep growing in the field. \u201cI\u2019m so interested that I\u2019m looking into GRID\u2019s programs to learn and grow even more.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> She also expressed gratitude to her manager for encouraging her to take part. \u201cI really appreciate that Wells Fargo gives us the time and space to volunteer in the community,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> she said.<\/p>\n

Both volunteers encouraged others to give it a try. \u201cJust do it,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Garcia said. \u201cYou don\u2019t have to go on the roof. There\u2019s always something you can do to help, such as handing out water, assisting on the ground, or cleaning up. Everyone contributes.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Alvarez agreed, adding that the sense of teamwork and shared purpose made the day special. \u201cYou\u2019re helping a family, helping the environment, and learning at the same time. It\u2019s something I\u2019ll never forget.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
