California\u2019s first low-income community solar project, a nearly 1-megawatt solar electric system on the Santa Rosa Band of Cahuilla Indians<\/a> reservation, broke ground in June of this year and is well into Phase One. The project is on schedule and progressing nicely. GRID Alternatives Inland Empire Commercial Project Manager Vanessa Lorrah gave an update on the status of the project, \u201cWe are completing the racking installation and will continue installing modules through early next week. As of right now, we have 360 of the 2,600 modules installed. Our tribal trainees are really enjoying their time learning and helping build the solar system, that will ultimately benefit their tribe in addition to the Anza utility subscribers. Our electricians are in the process of building the concrete transformer pad, which should be completed by the end of next week,\u201d said Vanessa. They hope to have all modules installed by the first week of August.<\/p>\n

The CSD Santa Rosa Community Solar Project is part of the California Climate Investments<\/a>, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment \u2014 particularly in disadvantaged communities.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
