GRID Alternatives Inland Empire<\/a> would like to thank the Georgia Tech<\/a> and Duke University<\/a> students and faculty advisers who signed up for this year\u2019s Solar Spring Break Program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GRID was unable to host our Duke & Georgia Tech teams this year. Even though students couldn\u2019t participate in the installation process alongside GRID staff to make solar happen for the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe, the funds raised by our Solar Spring Break teams are making a huge impact to support a local tribal community! <\/p>\n

With the support of Georgia Tech and Duke University, GRID was able to install a total of 17.17 kW of solar for four families of the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe. Over the lifetime of these solar systems, our four families will have a lifetime savings of $99,881.83. What does this mean for the environment? It means a carbon reduction of 208.51 tons and is the equivalent to 4,850 trees planted.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
