We’ve previously updated you on developments in the life of Ryan Shelton, a recent GLA SolarCorps Fellow from the Long Beach area, after he went into the private solar industry. Ryan was selected as a finalist for The Corps Network’s Corpsmember of the Year award; he’s been working, full-time; and he joined us at last December’s celebration for trainees and volunteers.

Now, Ryan has been chosen as 2020 Corps Member of the Year – an exceptional Corpsmember, taken from the entire national network of Service and Conservation Corps.

Read more about Ryan.

Ryan says that one of his highest achievements is bringing people from his own community into training at GLA. “But,” he says, “it takes you asking those questions and you pushing yourself to those limits.”

We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations, Ryan!

The SolarCorps Fellowship Program is part of the AmeriCorps network of programs. SolarCorps is made possible with funding support from AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps VISTA, and Bank of America. AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency for volunteering, service, and civic engagement. CNCS engages millions of Americans in citizen service through its AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs and leads the nation’s volunteer and service efforts.
