GRID values the hard work of our many volunteers and interns, providing countless hours fulfilling GRID\u2019s mission of providing clean energy to disadvantaged communities. The Volunteer Appreciation event closed out <a href=\"https:\/\/gridalternatives.org\/get-involved\/solar-break\">Solar Spring Break<\/a>, allowing a perfect opportunity for students visiting from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsu.edu\/\">North Carolina State University<\/a> a chance to meet and mingle with staff, volunteers and GRID supporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe GRID IE team was so excited to see and reconnect with volunteers, trainees, interns, and our visiting team of Solar Spring Breakers from NC State University,\u201d said Workforce and Volunteer Manager Cindy Corrales. \u201cOur work in the community would not be possible without the support of our incredible participants both on our rooftops, in our office, and out in the community. Thank you for making a difference to help people, green our planet, and engage in the local solar economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the Volunteer Appreciation Celebration, two outstanding individuals received awards for their stellar efforts at GRID IE. Jurupa Valley High School graduate Daniel Gomez received recognition as \u2018<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gridalternatives.org\/what-we-do\/workforce-development\/solar-futures\">Solar Futures<\/a> Student of the Year<\/em>\u2019 and Team Leader and local airplane pilot Donald Halsell was honored as \u2018<em>Volunteer of the Year<\/em>\u2019<\/p>\n<p> .<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>GRID IE invites you to participate in National Volunteer Month by joining us on a solar build here in the Inland Empire.
