Healthcare is a necessary part of everyday life. However, when burdened with the weight of taking care of a sick loved one and trying to pay bills, it becomes clear how vital good healthcare and a good support system play in navigating through tough times. Sonia Vieyra, a resident of Perris, was faced with a similar situation. After attending a North County Health Services (NCHS) Perris event, she realized NCHS Perris<\/a> could provide her husband high quality healthcare in a financially accessible manner. However, despite the affordable healthcare, Sonia still faced the financial burden of other bills and began to seek out other resources that could help her family through the rough patch. As the family\u2019s energy bill began to rise because of necessary medical equipment, she sought out the help of GRID Alternatives to help lower her energy costs through their no-cost solar program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sonia\u2019s first exposure to GRID was at NCHS Perris resources fair when she met a GRID Outreach Coordinator. The Outreach Coordinator explained to Sonia the application process to apply for no cost solar, detailing the entire process from prequalification to installation. Sonia was impressed with how GRID had the ability to help her reduce her electricity bills by up to 90 percent. While her husband continued to receive care from NCHS Perris, the Vieyra family completed the GRID application process and received their solar panels. This produced a massive savings in energy bills allowing them to use their money for what really mattered: the health of their family.<\/p>\n

Since the installation of her system Sonia said, \u201cWe haven\u2019t paid a single cent towards our energy bills.\u201d Her husband made a full recovery thanks to the doctors at NCHS Perris.
