Longtime Perris School Board member Virniecia Green-Jordan has always seen the value of technology, both in the classroom and industry. She has participated in opening eight schools during her tenure and has always considered how applied science can improve living conditions. \u201cI have been on the Perris School Board<\/a> since 1985, working to ensure students are exposed to emerging technologies,\u201d Virniecia stated. \u201cSolar energy is one area that I could apply innovation personally and show the community how to get free energy from the sun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Virniecia first exposure to GRID was at a school backpack giveaway two years ago. She was impressed with GRID\u2019s vision of a clean transition to renewable energy that includes everyone. She also admired GRID\u2019s commitment to free job training<\/a> for individuals seeking employment in the solar industry. <\/p>\n

Like any good educator, Virniecia researched GRID and learned GRID has been providing income qualified homeowners in the Inland Empire no-cost solar systems for over six years. She considered a system at that time; however her roof was in need of repairs. \u201cI was waiting for a grant in order to fix my roof,\u201d Virniecia said. \u201cI had time to give serious consideration to evaluating GRID as an energy solution and concluded a solar system was a great option.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Virniecia the process to qualify for a no-cost solar system was relatively straightforward. She completed the application and learned more about the technology behind photovoltaic systems. All her questions<\/a> were answered through the various conversations with her outreach coordinator and the solar installation supervisor during installation. She was particularly impressed with GRID\u2019s commitment to quality and the ten year labor warranty. \u201cAs a senior citizen it important to me that GRID stands behind their work,\u201d Virniecia said.<\/p>\n

Now that her system has been installed, Virniecia is looking forward to saving up to 90% on her electric bills while also sharing her GRID experience with others. \u201cBased on my experience as an educator, GRID\u2019s training program speaks volumes,\u201d she said. \u201cGRID is helping people every day and I want to be part of GRID\u2019s vison.\u201d <\/p>\n
