School officials and students filled the front yard of the home, as media captured the story of stewardship and volunteerism in the small town.<\/p>\n
Ceres High School Manufacturing and Green Technology Academy was recognized by the State of California as a 2016 California Partnership, Distinguished Academy. After 30 years of commitment to the implementation of high quality education programs, mixing core academics and career technical education for youth, this is the Academy\u2019s first time being recognized. Having partnered with Ceres High School since 2013, GRID Alternatives is proud to provide the hands-on solar installation experience for students seeking a career paths within the renewable energy sector.<\/p>\n
Overseeing the all-girl install, Instructor Trish Byers commented to the Ceres Courier <\/em>newspaper, that her students volunteer work with GRID helps enrich their overall learning experience. \u201cI wish I had this type of activity available when I was in high school,\u201d said Byers. \u201cIt makes learning more fun being able to apply what you\u2019re actually doing in the classroom rather than just sitting down and taking tests all day.\u201d “We’ve learned much. We were discussing how we should get together and solarize each other’s houses,\u201d said Beatriz Jasso during an interview with the Ceres Courier<\/em> a local newspaper.<\/p>\n GRID Alternatives is grateful to continue to be a part of the learning experience for students in Ceres High School\u2019s Manufacturing and Green Technology Academy.
