Matthew Yaeger, however is not the typical high school senior. Matthew has devoted this last semester of his high school career to serving those whose voices are not as widely heard as those on the NBC show. Matthew is busy recruiting runners and solar advocates to participate in the inaugural Solar 4 Everyone Transcontinental Relay to support GRID Alternatives’ triple bottom line of People, Planet and Employment.

On July 5th, 2015, the relay will depart from the end of Long Wharf in Boston. 36 days later, it will come barreling into Oakland, California, ending at the GRID Alternatives headquarters. Each runner will raise at least $100 and write it in a check to support the mission and vision of GRID Alternatives. At each handoff point, the incoming runner will pass on the bag of checks to the departing runner, and the departing runner will put his or her check into the bag and take off. By the time the relay reaches Colorado, the runner will have a backpack full of financial support to deliver to the GRID Alternatives Colorado office in Denver. The relay will then continue over some of the country’s most beautiful terrain, and soon another backpack of checks will be arriving at GRID Alternatives’ headquarters in Oakland, California.

For more information regarding how you can participate as a runner, a financial supporter or as a solar advocate, please visit the website at http://transcontinentalrelay.webs.com/ or like the Solar 4 Everyone Facebook page.

See you on the trail,

GRID Alternatives Colorado and Matthew

Matthew Yaeger is not your typical high school senior– read about this solar advocate and the Solar 4 Everyone Transcontinental Relay

[81
[12
["post-2955","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-organizational-stories","content-type-news

Is your meter running?
