GRID volunteers mixed it up with hundreds of solar companies, energy and other professionals at GRID IE’s Green Mixer job fair held in conjunction with the Southern California Energy Summit networking reception this Fall. The spirited event brought together solar companies looking for qualified talent and our trained and ready-to-work volunteers. Our volunteers stood out among the crowd with the hundreds of hands-on solar installation hours they gained with GRID and left with super big smiles as they all got multiple job interviews!<\/p>\n

We heard from a few of our volunteers recently and are so excited to share their wonderful news!<\/p>\n

Keaton<\/strong>: We saw Keaton this past weekend as he yelled to us from across the home show floor from his booth. Yes, HIS booth! He was super excited that it was his first day of work with a local solar company and credits his experience with GRID for landing him the job.<\/p>\n

Frankie<\/strong>: Frankie participated the GRID IE Green Mixer to network and meet recruiters from solar companies. He just sent us this note: \u201cI would like to thank all of you from GRID Alternatives. The Mixer went great! I met good people and you guys really helped me to become noticed by the companies there. I would like to let you all know that I was recently hired and it all started with you guys. Thank you very, very much everyone from GRID Alternatives Inland Empire!\u201d<\/p>\n

Rafael<\/strong>: Rafael (left in photo) got his start with GRID as a homeowner. Seeing the possibility of better employment opportunities in the solar workforce, he signed up for a solar class and started volunteering with GRID himself. Rafael also attended the GRID IE Green Mixer where he met Carmen, GRID Team Leader, who set him up with a position at her solar company.<\/p>\n
