We recently sat down with Jon and Kitty Harvey (and their dog Donner) to find out what motivates them to be loyal and generous supporters of GRID Alternatives and how it ties in with their personal values of making a big difference and a small footprint in our world.

Major donors since 2004, Jon and Kitty tell about their first install experience and how it inspired them to invest in furthering GRID’s mission as donors, advisors, and ambassadors. Both long-time philanthropists and volunteers – Jon, an engineer, is in the process of building a green home for their family which features solar (of course!), a cistern system, rental unit, and more. Read more about it on his blog: http://jonharv.blogspot.com/. Kitty, a former school teacher,is currently going into the last year of her masters in non-profit management at USF.

We at GRID Alternatives are deeply grateful to Jon and Kitty for their commitment, partnership and generosity in helping to bring the economic and environmental benefits of solar to communities in need. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to get to know them

Please join the Harvey’s today by investing in GRID Alternatives’ work to provide hands-on job training in the growing solar industry, lower electricity costs for those who need it most, reduce greenhouse gases, and engage entire communities in making clean, renewable energy a reality.
