After graduating, he enrolled at the New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn studying computer science and began working 30 hours a week at a CVS to help support his family. After an accidental injury opening a box at work, Miguel missed a final exam, dropped out of school, and was fired from his job. Miguel again found himself at a loss, frustrated and without direction. Through the help of his mentors and the Green City Force, an AmeriCorps program with a focus on the environmental field, Miguel got an internship with GRID and was soon hired by On-Force Solar, a solar energy company in the Bronx. Today, Miguel hopes to start a business involving his passions for sustainable agriculture and energy alternatives.
